Why Your Audience Isn't Engaging...
Have you ever been in the middle of trying to grow a new audience on social media, or grow your email list or in the middle of your launch and you share something over email or social and hear crickets back?!
That's because you're words are doing one of these three things:
1. You're not speaking to anyone in particular.
You are writing your posts or your emails with your entire target audience in mind and not just one person. So your message ends up coming out really fluffy and vague and not really resonating with any of them.
Here's an example, let's say you are looking for a way to grow your social media account. You're annoyed at how slowly it's going, you're not getting engagement, and all the wrong people are following you and DMing you.
Then get an email or see a post from someone that says: "I can help you grow your social media, makes sales online, build your course, and increase your income."
Would you respond?
Probably not. First, it's so general of a message that you'll probably just ignore it all together and deep down this general message is not instilling trust in you that they can do what they say they can.
But if you got an email or saw a post that said: "Are you frustrated that it's taking too long to grow your social media following? Are you posting but not seeing any engagement? Are you getting all the wrong DMs from people trying to sell you into their MLM or spamming your inbox? I get it, that was me 3 years ago and I can help."
You'd probably respond or at least read the rest of the email.
Why? Because this one touches on YOUR problems, YOUR life, and offers you a solution. It builds trust and understanding and moves you to engage deeper.
2. You're Not Solving Their Problems
It's easy to send out a message all about you, about your system, your methods, your credibility. But in the end, people don't engage with messages that come their way that are not in some way helping them.
They are looking for someone they can trust and who can solve their immediate problems quickly.
So if you message is all about you and your credentials and what you did, they are going to move on.
Instead, focus on their pain, their struggles and then offer them a solution. Help them see the value and benefit they will gain from working with you and engaging with you.
3. You're Not Being Strong Enough In Your Value
Most entrepreneurs online, don't stand strong enough in their value, what they can offer their clients and this ends up really hurting them.
Don't be afraid to make a claim, make a promise or guarantee. When you shy away from these, your audience feels it and they lose that trust factor.
If you are not confident in what you are doing and how you are showing up in the world then your audience is not going to be confident that you can help them and they will find someone who it.
So don't wait to claim your confidence, you are enough, your value is enough and your audience is craving your leadership.
